It features vast grasslands (chaurs), the Ramganga River reservoir, and diverse wildlife including tigers, elephants, and various bird species. The unique opportunity to stay overnight at Dhikala Forest Lodge inside the park makes it truly special. Morning and evening safaris from Dhikala offer the highest chances of tiger sightings.

Yes, overnight stays are available at government-run Forest Rest Houses (FRH) in various zones, most notably at Dhikala Forest Lodge. These accommodations offer a unique experience of staying deep inside the jungle, where you can hear wildlife sounds at night and enjoy early morning safaris. Accommodation is basic but comfortable, with dining facilities provided. Booking should be done well in advance as availability is limited.

The best time to visit Jim Corbett is from November to June. Winter months (November-February) offer pleasant weather and good wildlife sightings. Summer months (March-June) are excellent for tiger sightings as animals come to water sources. The park remains partially closed during monsoon (July-October) with only Jhirna and Dhela zones operational. For Dhikala zone, plan your visit between November and June.

Safari timings vary by season. Morning Safari: 6:00 AM - 9:30 AM (Summer) / 6:30 AM - 10:00 AM (Winter). Evening Safari: 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM (Summer) / 2:00 PM - 5:30 PM (Winter). It is mandatory to enter and exit the park within these timings. Dhikala day visits require entry by 11:00 AM and exit by 6:00 PM.

For Indian nationals: Valid government ID (Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, or Passport). For foreign nationals: Valid Passport and Visa. All visitors must carry original ID proof during the safari. For children, birth certificate or school ID may be required. The same ID used during booking must be presented at the park gate.

Tiger sightings in the wild can never be guaranteed as these are wild animals in their natural habitat. However, Jim Corbett has a healthy tiger population of around 230+ tigers, offering good chances of sightings. Dhikala, Bijrani, and Jhirna zones have the highest probability. Jeep Safari costs approximately ₹5,000 - ₹8,000 per vehicle (6 persons) depending on the zone. Canter Safari costs around ₹2,500 per person. Camera fees are extra if you carry professional equipment.

Cancellation policies vary: More than 30 days before safari: 90% refund. 15-30 days before: 50% refund. 7-15 days before: 25% refund. Less than 7 days: No refund. If safari is cancelled due to weather or forest department orders, full refund or rescheduling is provided. Date changes may attract additional charges depending on availability.

Important safety rules include: Stay inside the vehicle at all times. Do not make loud noises or sudden movements. Maintain silence during wildlife sightings. Wear earth-toned clothing (avoid bright colors). No smoking inside the park. No plastic items allowed. Do not feed or provoke animals. Follow guide instructions at all times. By Road: Well connected by road. Delhi to Corbett is 260 km (5-6 hours drive). Regular buses and taxis available from Ramnagar to various gates.
